Animal Rights Photojournalism
I am Semhar, an animal rights photographer dedicated to documenting the lives of animals who exist outside public view. My work is driven by the belief that visibility creates accountability.
Through documentary photography, I investigate the systems that harm animals: industrial farming, captivity, and habitat destruction. My work makes these systems legible to the people who fund them, often without knowing it.
Based in Washington, DC, I work across North America and internationally, collaborating with sanctuaries, advocates, and journalists to get these stories told.
